หลังจากถูกนำเสนอข่าวลือมานานหลายเดือน ในที่สุด Samsung ก็ได้เปิดตัวสมาร์ทโฟนระดับเรือธง Galaxy Note 9 อย่างทางการแล้ว พร้อมด้วยข่าวดีสำหรับสาวก Samsung ในประเทสไทย เพราะผู้ให้บริการเครือข่ายโทรศัพท์เคลื่อนที่รายใหญ่ทั้งเอไอเอส, ดีแทค และ ทรูมูฟ เอช จะเปิดให้จับจองทันที ตั้งแต่วันที่ 10 สิงหาคม 2561 เป็นต้นไป
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 ออกแบบมาให้ป้องกันน้ำได้ในระดับ IP68 พร้อมด้วยระบบเสียงที่ได้รับการปรับแต่งจาก AKG ใช้จอแสดงผล Super AMOLED ความละเอียด Quad HD+ (2960 x 1440 พิกเซล) ขนาด 6.4 นิ้ว แถมปากกา S Pen รุ่นใหม่ ที่ทำอะไรได้มากกว่าวาดเขียน เพราะมี Bluetooth ในตัว สามารถใช้เป็นรีโมทสั่งถ่ายภาพ, ช่วยงานนำเสนอ, ควบคุมการเล่นเพลงหรือวีดีโอ โดยรองรับแรงกดในระดับ 4096
